Community Outreach Partnerships

Food Collection

Each Sunday we collect non-perishable food items and monetary donations for the area food banks.   Monetary  donations usually go much further since the Food Banks often buy at reduced prices or in bulk. There is a grocery  basket and monetary box inside the sanctuary doors to the right as you enter the sanctuary on Sunday mornings where your donations may be placed.

Habitat for Humanity

Habitat for Humanity Central Arizona, a Christian-based organization, builds, renovates and repairs simple, decent and affordable homes in partnership with families in need. http://www.habitatcaz.org/

Justa Center

Justa Center is a day resource center in Phoenix specifically designed to help those over the age of 55 find appropriate housing, employment, and other needed services.
Items regularly needed to help with the day to day operations of the Justa Center include:
Coffee, Coffee Creamer, Sugar, Paper Towels, Hand Soap, Toilet Paper, Laundry Soap, Tissues, Books and Magazines, Furniture, Unopened toiletries, Office Supplies (paper, pens, etc.), Cleaning Products, Reading Glasses, New Socks, Styrofoam cups, Paper Plates, Computers. Worship on Sunday at 10:00 am. http://www.justacenter.org/

United Methodist Outreach Ministries – UMOM/New Day

Founded in 1964, UMOM is the largest homeless shelter for families in Arizona. Families are kept together, They are provided with a continuum of care from emergency shelter to transitional housing and finally, permanent, affordable housing. Families at UMOM have the opportunity to gain the skills, medical care, quality child care, and education they need to rebuild their lives and succeed when they leave. http://www.umom.org/

Watkins Basic Needs Shelter

This unique, year-round program is designed specifically to serve up to 120 homeless single women, as well as 20 families every night. The City of Phoenix assists with case management and other supportive services. UMOM  continues to manage and operate this program which receives additional support, both volunteer and financial, from many faith-based and community organizations. http://www.umom.org/watkins_emergency_shelter


Wesley Community Center

Wesley Community Center provides programs for children, youth, adults, families and senior adults. Wesley Center is a National Mission Institution of the United Methodist Church and a Primary Partner of the Valley of the Sun United Way. The Health Clinic is open to both insured and uninsured persons who need medical care. http://www.wesleycenterphx.org/

Kairos Outside

A ministry for women who have been impacted by incarceration: either doing time themselves, or the incarceration of a family member or friend. This weekend is designed to help women heal from the burdens they carry. There are two weekends held each year. Gena Martinello, Coordinator
