Our Leadership Team:

Our leadership team recognizes the authority of God, and realizes that we are shepherds who serve under the Chief Shepherd, Jesus Christ. We desire to devote ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the Word. Our passion and goal  is to equip the believers for the work of the ministry until we all attain maturity in the fullness of Christ.

Senior Pastor

Cross in the Desert UMC has a new pastor as of July 1, 2015.  My wife, Katharine, joined me for my first Sunday with you.  She is the Director of Christian Education and Outreach at Gold Canyon United Methodist Church.  Katharine has over thirty years of experience as a Christian Education Director.  In our blended family we have four daughters, two sons and eleven grandchildren. As we embark upon this chapter of the history of Cross In The Desert UMC, I thank God for the opportunity to serve as your pastor; and I pray that God will continue to lead, guide and  direct our path.

Coordinator of Children’s Ministries

As Coordinator of Children Ministries, I am able to use the many years of experience I have gained from being a Director of Children’s Church in Minneapolis, MN, sunday school teaching and Assistant Youth Director and Camp Supervisor of youth in NE/CO.  My husband, Bill, and I have been at CITD for 10 years.  We have one son, Aaron, and his step daughter, Sara, is in the youth group.

Alice Easter

Finance Secretary

Cross in the Desert UMC is my second home. I moved to Phoenix in 1982 and have been worshiping and praising my Lord here since. The Lord has blessed me with two daughters, and two granddaughters, and I am thankful that my oldest, her husband and my granddaughter attend Cross in the Desert. I have served the Lord here in many ways and am currently Finance Secretary. One funny story I would like to share with you is that when my family moved to Phoenix, I asked a neighbor where the closest Methodist Church was and she told me there is one at the corner of Sweetwater and 32nd Street. I just lived around the corner at the time and could hardly believe it. I said, “You are kidding, I thought that was a school.” At that time the Sanctuary had not been built, and there actually was a pre-school on the campus. But I was excited to realize there was a church so close. I have grown in my faith here and have gotten to know many different people who have loved and supported me through this journey that I continue to walk, learning more and more about our wonderful Savior, Jesus Christ.

Linda Moore

Administrative Assistant

I am a Phoenix native and grew up in the United Methodist Church. Cross in the Desert has been my family’s church and my extended “family” for 25 years. My husband and I have been married since 1985 and have a son and a daughter. We also have two crazy four legged children (aka dogs).

As administrative assistant, I feel like I am giving back to the church family that has given so much to me over the years.

Christina Moore

Youth Director

I have been a part of the Cross in the Desert family my entire life. Not only was I part of the youth group here, I also led Young Life Capernaum for six years. I graduated from Grand Canyon University in 2016 with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology. I hope to eventually attend a Physician Assistant graduate program. For now I am excited to take my experience of being a youth member as well as a youth leader to grow our program here at Cross in the Desert.
