New Here?

It doesn’t matter who you are or where you are from, you’ll always be welcome at Cross In the Desert!  Our desire is to provide a place for you and for everyone in your family.

Visiting a church for the first time can be intimidating.  At Cross in the Desert we value you as our guest and want your first visit with us to be a meaningful experience.  From the moment you arrive on campus we hope you will feel at home.  Volunteer greeters on the campus, at the doors and at our Information Table, are available to help you with any information you need or directions around campus.

Sunday Morning Guest Tips

  • What to Wear – You’re going to find a variety of dress at Cross in the Desert.  From suits and dresses to khakis and jeans.  Our desire is that you not worry about what you’re wearing . . . just come as you are.
  • Parking – We suggest you arrive at least 10-to 15 minutes prior to service to allow yourself time to park in our guest parking spots and make your way to the sanctuary before worship begins.  Our main parking lot is best accessed from 32nd Street, south of Sweetwater Boulevard.
  • Nursery and child care is in the Guthrie Education Building.  If you have a young child with you, look for the Guthrie Education Building on the right hand side of the walkway as you enter from the south parking lot.  You may register your child in the nursery before you continue on to worship in the Sanctuary..
  • Older children should go with you to the Sanctuary for worship.
  • Children are welcome to attend any of the Worship services with their parents.

If you attend our 9 am Worship Service your child or children are invited to come forward during the “Children’s Moments.” After they are dismissed, their teacher will escort them to their appropriate Sunday School class in the Guthrie Education Building. All children from Preschool (age 3) through the Fifth Grade are welcome to attend. After the conclusion of the worship service, you must check out your child at the Guthrie Building. They are not allowed to come where you are.

  • Multi-media at all worship services.
  • Hearing devices for those who need it.

Buildings on Campus

The Sanctuary is located on the northwest corner of our property. Locate the “Cross and Flame” near the south parking area and then just walk up the sidewalk and take a left.

Guthrie Educational Building is for children’s Sunday School and other activities, and includes Child Care.

The Fellowship Hall also has the Administrative Offices located within it.

We provide the Phoenix Police Department with space for a break room on our campus.  Interfaith Counseling Center is also on the east side of the campus, near the “community rooms”, where our Boy Scouts, Alcoholics Anonymous, Cactus Sweetwater Neighborhood Community Blockwatch and other groups meet.
